The Margherita Garden,
an oasis of relaxation at the Grand Hotel Dino
In the heart of the Grand Hotel Dino lies a hidden treasure: the wonderful Margherita Garden, an enchanted refuge for those seeking serenity and tranquility. Surrounded by lush greenery and with a view of the enchanting panorama of Lake Maggiore, it is a place that offers an experience of peace and relaxation.
In close collaboration with the client, the Zacchera family, we participated in the construction of the Margherita Garden and the new outdoor swimming pool, customizing them to meet the client’s specific needs.
We started with a wonderful project from the hand of architect Paolo Villa, one of Italy’s leading garden and landscape architects.
From this with the property, we started to create simulations and mock-ups that led us to the operational phase.
After intense co-ordination work between all the players, we arrived at the building site phase, which, due to the hotel’s timetable, led us to carry out the excavation – pool filling project in just 4 and a half months, a true record time without compromising the value and quality of the work.
An atmosphere capable of excitement
The aim was to create a unique atmosphere, transforming the Margherita Garden into a cosy and charming refuge for guests. Every detail, from the choice of materials to the architectural elements, was taken care of with passion and dedication to offer an unforgettable experience in this enchanted place.
The Margherita Lounge
We worked on the flooring, trying to obtain a stone Palladian effect as it was done in the past, but realized with stoneware tiles that we cut and customized while guaranteeing practicality and ease of cleaning.
The shades and effects of the tiles were carefully selected to blend harmoniously with the existing stones of the staircase, while the central rosette, made of marble mosaic by our mosaic craftsmen from the ancient school of Spilimbergo, was specially designed to add a touch of elegance and uniqueness.
Customization of the bar counter
The bar counter was customized with backlit plexiglass panels by Technographics’ to have a customized image as a background to create a striking ‘honey’ effect. In fact, the beehive shape of the bar, illuminated by LEDs, creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The outdoor swimming pool
As far as the swimming pool is concerned, the exteriors are made of antique Palladian stone framed by an absolute black marble border that also surrounds the pool, creating a harmony of colours and shapes with a sinuous tone.
The pool, having a shape characterized by curves of various radius, was covered in mosaic laid by our specialists while the bottom was covered in grey vals stone to give the water a greenish tone similar to that of the lake in summertime.
This project has been a journey full of dedication and sharing.
We are happy to have contributed to transforming the Margherita Garden into a wonderful dream garden and grateful for having had the opportunity to participate in this challenge, which has allowed us to enrich our wealth of new experiences.
