Milan Furniture Fair 2024 from our eyes: new trends 2024

Milan Furniture Fair 2024, the event that every year transports us into the heart of innovations relating to the world of furniture and design, has recently come to an end. The attention of all design enthusiasts has shifted to the new trends and inspirations that characterized the event. Having touched and watched ideas and inspirations with our own eyes, we are here to share with you the latest innovations and anticipate the trends that will mark the future of furniture for 2024.

Sustainable Elegance

One of the dominant trends that emerged was the emphasis on sustainable elegance. More and more designers and manufacturers are focusing on the use of eco-friendly materials and responsible production processes, ensuring that style and sustainability go hand in hand. Furniture made of FSC-certified wood, recycled and recyclable fabrics, and designs inspired by nature are just some of the solutions that embody this concept of conscious luxury.

Multifunctionality and Versatility

The ‘less is more’ approach continues to be a predominant trend in the furniture world. Multifunctional and versatile furniture is increasingly in demand, as it maximizes available space without sacrificing style or functionality. Sofas with storage space, convertible tables and customizable modular systems are just some of the innovative solutions that are winning the hearts of those seeking practicality without sacrificing aesthetics.

Reinterpreted minimalism

Among the emerging trends, we have noticed a reinterpretation of minimalism. Far from being bare or cold, the minimalism of 2024 is distinguished by its warm simplicity and attention to detail. Natural materials, neutral tones and clean lines are the undisputed protagonists of this new aesthetic.

Colours, Fabrics and Materials

Bordeaux as expected thanks to the influence of fashion with GUCCI’s Rosso Ancora was one of the most prominent colours at this edition of the Salone del Mobile.
We particularly noticed it in Palombo Serafini’s ‘NALU’ outdoor collection for TALENTI.
It has even arrived in the world of tapware in GESSI’s ‘Pelle’ collection.
Off-white, greige and ochre yellow are just some of the neutral nuances that are gaining popularity, adding a feeling of warmth and comfort to living spaces.
There is also great emphasis on ochre colours as in the new ‘Dorvan’ sofa by Désirée designed by Matteo Thun & Antonio Rodriguez.
In the world of natural materials, on the other hand, travertine dominated this show as in the ‘KERAMIK’ collection by Cattelan Italia.
The cannette trend that EUROMOBIL is increasingly proposing in levitas glass kitchens continues this year. Combining it with the transparency of glass and the natural tones of sandblasted oak.

Integrated Technology

The integration of technology and design is another key trend that is defining the future of furniture. Furniture and accessories with smart functionalities offer an increasingly connected and intuitive living experience.
We have seen these solutions in new products from GESSI such as the ‘Vita Caffe’, a revolutionary kitchen mixer with integrated coffee machine, as well as in the touch controls for showers.
